Fire Devours Large Segment of Samuel Goldwyn Studios
A spectacular Hollywood blaze gutted half the Samuel Goldwyn Studios on Santa Monica Boulevard, injuring one worker seriously and damaging three buildings. Firefighters used armored walls and machine guns to breach the fortress like walls to reach the flames as stars including Steve McQueen witnessed the inferno. The fire started on the set of the NBC show Sigmund when stage lighting powered up, and the loss was estimated well over a million dollars. Samuel Goldwyn Jr. and other personnel escaped the flames.

Coffee Nerves May Mask Anxiety From Caffeine Overload
Dr John P Greden of Walter Reed Army Medical Hospital warns that excess caffeine from coffee tea or cola can trigger anxiety like symptoms and mislead doctors. He cites cases including a 27 year old woman whose daily 10 12 cups of strong coffee caused headaches lightheadedness and heart irregularities which abated after cutting caffeine. He notes an Army officer improved after reducing 14 cups daily and warns many Americans exceed 500 milligrams caffeine per morning.
