Spirited Candidates Express Confidence in Meigs County Primaries
Meigs County voters head to the polls Tuesday amid contests for auditor, judge, and county commissioner. Unopposed candidates include Vernon Lee Archer for auditor and Edgar Ervin for judge. Republicans split the Middleport vote with H W Craig and Lafe McKnight seeking county commissioner. Incumbent Ben Turner faces C O Fisher and A V Howell for the representative seat. Party machinery buzz centers on 43 precincts with Diddle Clark and Follrod Hardinger factions predicting control of committees. Multiple Democratic and Republican candidates appear across townships, precincts, and villages, with no shortages of familiar local names and addresses.
