Eisenhower replies to West Elementary students with note and picture
In answer to President's Day letters, President Eisenhower sent three classes from West Elementary a note and a large picture. Miss Lee Brague's first grade, Mrs. Maude Stauffer's second, and Mrs. Louise Wallace's third grade wrote personal letters to the president. Each child addressed their own envelope and posed questions as part of a communications study. A deputy assistant to the president, Gerald D. Morgan, had previously replied, saying he was glad to hear from America's young people. The letter and picture are displayed outside the main office.
