Arraign 14 on Indictments 2 Plead Guilty
Fourteen persons indicted by the Athens County Grand Jury were arraigned in Athens County Common Pleas Court Judge O F Rowland Thursday to plead. Two defendants Norman Irvin and Thurman Kincade faced secret indictments. Kincade pleaded not guilty to perjury and was held on $500 bond while Irvin pleaded not guilty on an assault and battery charge with $200 bond. Several others pled guilty or faced postponed sentences on forgery grand larceny and other charges with various bonds set.

Eleven gallons of liquor were seized when Ralph Slaughter's Pratt Street home was raided. Slaughter was arraigned before Mayor R Wood and fined $500 plus costs.
