Harold Peiffer, 26, reportedly hanged himself near his father Olivero Peiffer’s Rushville home on Monday. The body was found by the father early Tuesday. Surviving relatives include his wife and young son. Peiffer had been missing since about 10 am Monday.
Charles Reeves of Athens snatched a billfold containing $38 from E. W. Ervin. Ervin pursued and recovered the billfold but the money was gone. Reeves denied the theft and was held to the grand jury under a $1,000 bond for robbery and jailed for failure to post bond.
