In Trenton on May 3 Representative Simpson, senate minority leader, announced his withdrawal from the U S senate race arguing Governor Edward J Edwards's opposition to prohibition makes him the strongest candidate on the horizon.
Columbus Ohio May 3 Police Chief French announced he will suspend Workhouse Superintendent W P Donohoo if he does not resign. Donohoo admits responsibility for whippings of former inmates Charles Redman and Homer Harrison amid allegations of brutal treatment. Harrison threatened a guard and Redman screamed in a dungeon.
The May grand jury returned eight indictments against as many defendants after two days of deliberations. Others facing charges include burglaries tied to the Kimbery group, with several names listed as not indicted. The jury reported the county jail in good condition and jailed inmates well cared for.

The body shows a bullet wound and has clues including Flo rsheim shoes and a label on trousers.
