Lessons in Bridge Playing By Oswald Jacob
In the Eastern Championships in New York, many pairs failed to make four hearts with North South cards. They were too scientific after West opened a diamond and declarer ran diamonds discarding a spade, revealing strength in all suits. West then led the ace and ten of clubs, East ruffed, and South went down two or three tricks as opponents inferred much about the hand.

Bridge play notes highlight two clubs bid conflicts

Bridge bidding puzzle with Blackwood inquiry
In a four player bridge setup the South hand holds AKQI974 WKS A3243 and faces a sequence from North East South West. After 2 Spades and 3 Hearts, decide whether to bid four no trump and how Blackwood informs about six spades.
