Mrs. Henry A. Hatch a longtime Athens resident and civic leader died at 64 Mill Street after a short illness of bronchial pneumonia. Born Martha Wiley in Tuppers Plains on June 28 1872 she taught school studied at Ohio University and worked at Carnegie Library. She helped organize the Lydia Lash Evans Club and belonged to several clubs including Women’s City Federation Delphian and Pallas. Funeral services are set for Sunday at 2:30 pm at Dowler Ferguson Funeral Home with burial in West Union Street Cemetery.
