Two armed holdups net $175 at Chakiris Sundry Shop

In Athens Tuesday evening, two Black men in their early twenties robbed Chakiris Sundry Shop at 9 Mill St taking all one five and ten dollar bills from the cash register leaving the silver. The pair fled on foot or by vehicle after the 8:25 p.m. stick-up as police investigate and compare descriptions with a Lancaster carry-out robbery later that night. The last armed robbery in the area was a mail truck heist about three years ago.

Gallipolis Girl Abduction: Safe After Night ordeal

Michelle Price 21, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Price Jr., was abducted near Gallipolis. A masked man forced her to drive to a deserted house south of Point Pleasant, then to West Virginia, disrobing her and striking her. She later sought aid at a Mason County home and was taken to Holzer Medical Center. Police launched a major search with multiple agencies.
