Court ruling voids Meigs County hospital bond issues
The Ohio Supreme Court ruled last Wednesday that bond issues approved by Meigs County voters for a Veterans Memorial Hospital are invalid. The unanimous decision also struck down about 20 million dollars in Ohio bonds placed on ballots last year due to a new 55 percent approval standard. The Cincinnati park project case prompted the ruling, which does not affect the veterans levy approved in 1946 and now partially collected.
