OU police chief urges drop of charges in Baker 70 protests

Nelsonville fire chief Pierson to be dismissed amid shift
Nelsonville City Code Enforcement Director Steve Pierson will be terminated March 31 after interim City Manager Charles Barga reversed earlier plans to retain him. Barga acknowledged the decision originated under former manager Gary Edwards but signed the termination notice. Pierson disputes the change and says no official retention was ever arranged. Feds Probe Unauthorized Landing at OU Airport
Federal authorities investigated an international aircraft that landed without authorization at Ohio University airport near Albany. Homeland Security notified OU police at 2:30 PM. Customs and Border Protection requested detention of occupants. OU officers assisted as the probe continued into the evening.
