Middleport Council adopted ordinances to underpin trailer homes with fireproof material and remove unlicensed junked cars. Trailers must be underpinned within 30 days new units and six months for existing ones, fines up to 20 dollars plus daily penalties. Council also considers village cleanliness and water supply concerns through planning and federal aid efforts.

Vegetation Return Aims At Buffalo Creek Valley
The U S Soil Conservation Service and Guyan District plan to regreen Buffalo Creek Valley by summer. State conservationist James S Bennett announced work has begun in Logan County after the February 26 flood that killed over 115 people. A 107400 grant approved March 14 will fund seeding mulching soil, stream bank work, and channel cleanup to reduce sediment and prevent further flood damage to homes and utilities.

Ohio Eta Phi Chapter Beta Sigma Phi Sorority met Tuesday night at the Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric Co social room.
