County Man Drowns Self In Ohio River
A 72 year old Athens County man John Logue walked into the Ohio River and drowned near Hockingport. Sheriff George Bateman said the death appears suicide and Logue’s sister in law had seen him walking toward the river at about 8 am. A neighbor Frank McDonald began the riverbank rescue as the drowning occurred in Washington County and the river was later dragged by a sheriff directed crew.
