Ashworth family history preserved by Mrs. Arthur Donaldson reveals five generations tied to a 13 room Flatwoods home built in 1876 near Route 33 Five Points Meigs County. James Ashworth born 1759 settled Chester Township. descendants include Robert the tanner and Charles born 1852 who later moved west and back to Ohio.

A Meigs County resident died in a Christmas Eve accident. Sheriff deputies, state patrol, and the coroner investigated. Mrs. Wippel, wife of the victim, died of a heart attack at a neighbor’s home. Surviving are a daughter, son, sister, and three grandchildren. Funeral services set for Friday at Ewings. burial in Chester Cemetery. Rosary at Sacred Heart Church Wednesday evening.
