Logan County residents Mr. and Mrs. William G. Woodard of Union Furnace died when their car collided with a Pennsylvania freight train four miles south of Granville on State Route 37 during heavy rain and low visibility. Sheriff Francis called the crossing dangerous. The Woodards left surviving family in Logan and Chicago.
