City Solicitor John P. Baker filed injunctions to force Ohio Fuel Gas Co. to restore gas service to municipal offices in Zanesville. The firm, which had provided free gas previously, billed the city $3 214 for gas used since March 1 after losing an appeal on a lower rate ordinance approved by the city council a year earlier.
Harris L. Blanchard 26 confessed to shooting 16 year old Ed ward Le Clair of West Granville in the head at a camp near the boy’s home. He then allegedly stabbed himself in the neck and remained under guard in the hospital.

The State Tax Commission unveils rules for redeeming new three percent value sales tax stamps after May 1. Stamps must be in $100 lots, sorted by denomination, with matching designs bound together. Columbus announces dismissal of Athens County engineer John W. Dowler and Hocking County engineer Boyd V. Wright effective April 1. J R Evans named to oversee Athens Hocking and Vinton counties with Athens HQ. Dowler's 1928 appointment followed OSU degree in 1923 and long service. he plans to start a private engineering firm. Wright served as Hocking County engineer since 1929.
Eight members of the Warren family drowned when an ice jam at the Pine and Murray rivers flooded ranchlands in northeastern British Columbia. Identified so far are the father mother three children and three grandchildren with only one woman's body recovered. Provincial police sent food and medicine to the stricken area.

In Ashuelot New Hampshire Albert Wojehick 32 will be arraigned on murder charges after admitting he spiked a quart of whisky with poison to kill himself and his wife. The poison killed his brother in law and a guest, Julia Wheaton 25, who drinking wine found the drink tasted like poison before dying.

Nicholas Till age 86 veteran Logan clayworker died early today at the family home in East St. He and his wife celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last summer. Survived by widow and three children John Till Lancaster Mrs Judy Logan and Mary Smith Logan. Death followed a brief illness.
