It is said Mrs Gaines began the prosecution about nineteen years ago when she was Mrs Whitney. She later married Gen Gaines who supported her case and used his fortune to promote it. Friends have aided her, confident her title would be established.
The Board of Public Works orders all railroad bridges erected over public canals in the state removed by June first. The secretary must notify the railroad companies, and if not removed, an acting Commissioner will remove them. Columbus notice dated March 6, 1852, with copy date March 2, 1882.

In the Senate debate centered on Gov Wood’s commissioner appointments, with clashes over Kennon. Several bills moved, notable salaries proposed for top state offices, and the controversial printing bill stalled after amendments.
The town ship trustees of Cincinnati distributed 4877 loads of wood and over 1400 dollars to destitute families in the three months ending March 31. About 7000 people were aided, mostly women and children.
