Nelsonville Rotary Told Of Gas Shortage Battle
Frank W Phillips district manager of Ohio Fuel Gas Co described last winter’s gas supply crisis to Nelsonville Rotary. With 525 million cu ft daily demand on zero days and 400 million available stringent curtailments cut industrial use and nonessential customers, residential energy reduction and appliance conversion bans helped avert outages. He projected possible supply up to 600 million cu ft daily next winter and noted some curtailment may still be needed. Guests included Gerald Baird of Logan Club Carl Albright of Greenville Alden E Stilson of Columbus.
