York Board Debates Driver Hire and School Staffing
York Local Board of Education spent five hours without agreeing on a new Bus driver with four candidates previously failing to gain three votes. Edwards proposed Roy Bookman, backed by Wright, but Bookman drew opposition from Cagg and Cullison while Hawk received no second. The meeting approved the budget, set hours for non teaching staff, and hired Margaret Jennings as third grade teacher. Budget, chair, and chair discipline topics dominated the session along with chair chairing, piano moves between Poston and York High School, and a plan to study enumeration practices with PTO/PTA groups.
