Frank J. Beasley owner of the F. J. Beasley Milling and Wholesale Grocery Co. died at his Grandview Heights home at 12:20 AM from a recurring heart ailment. He had worked yesterday morning and evening, had two prior heart attacks, and built a leading southeastern Ohio business from a small Amensville grist mill started in 1894. He was active in civic affairs.
Funeral arrangements for Mr Beasley are set for Saturday at 2 50 p m with Rev M J Coulter of the Methodist Episcopal Church officiating. Friends may call Friday afternoon and evening. Beasley a longtime Athens County farmer miller and distributor left nine living children and twenty three grandchildren. He helped found the Amesville Mill and later ran a Wetzel street mill in Athens with grain elevators in Wood County and a Clover Farm wholesale venture with his son Carl Beasley. He married Jane Johnson in 1886 and was active in farming dairy cattle and local business groups.

Bluffton March 22 A prediction that the Ohio Legislature will do nothing to alleviate the educational crisis was made by Joseph Fitcher assistant state director of education at a congress of Parent-Teacher Associations. He said the Gunesett school bill before the Senate would be of little help and urged organizing around one bill and then entering politics with it. He forecast public schools being financed like state universities in the future. Over 300 delegates from 12 counties attended the congress.
Three roughly dressed men beat and bound Garland Beatty a 64 year old farmer of East Overpeck near Hamilton after a search of his premises failed to uncover loot. They threatened to cut off his ears and burn his house before Beatty freed himself after about thirty minutes and notified authorities.
A blaze at the Henry County home in Napoleon forced safety actions today as inmates were led or carried from the burning building. Attendants guided most inmates to safety while infirm residents were assisted by staff. Superintendent Charles Riggs confirmed all were saved.

Ohio House highways committee votes near unanimously to pass the Bittinger Bill authorizing the state to cooperate with the Muskingum Conservancy District. A fall down school steps led to injuries that caused the death of Mary Margaret Ballenger, a minor daughter of Mrs Iva Ballenger, in Children's Hospital at Columbus on Tuesday. The family formerly lived in Athens and has another child named Robert. Mary Margaret was a niece of Floyd Ballenger of Pleasanton Road and of Mrs Joseph Weisenbach of Hastings Addition. Funeral services will be held at the Columbus home on West Chapel Street Saturday afternoon.
