Sally Mitchell Perry Champ, a seventh grader at New Straitsville School, won the Perry County Spelling Contest held at Glenford Elementary and will compete in the Citizen Journal Spelling Bee in Columbus on May 5. Janet Miller was the alternate winner. several tied for elimination honors.

Wellston Science Fair Set at Central School Gym
Wellston’s junior and senior high science departments host a Friday fair in the Central School gym. Projects span conservation zoology earth sciences botany chemistry and physics for grades seven through twelve. Local winners advance to the Southeastern District Junior Ohio Academy of Science Fair March 31 at Ohio University.

Historical Vehicle Club Meets in Logan
The Hocking Valley Historical Vehicles Club met at Mr. and Mrs. William Pratt’s home with 17 members and children present.
