Man Rescued As Gallipolis Dam Salvage Proceeds
On the sixth day of salvage at the Gallipolis locks a man was rescued from the water after a barge capsized. Divers and towboats worked through the night to unload cargo and clear debris while river conditions and rising water challenged operations. Estimated cargo includes about 100 tons of metal and up to 300000 dollars worth of tinplate with total losses potentially reaching millions due to delays.
