Harrisburg announces an order for the release of Al Capone and Frank Kline who have been serving time for carrying concealed weapons. The order signed by UK Gov. John and Fisher was issued shortly after 11 a.m. and will be sent by messenger to Philadelphia immediately.
NEW LEXINGTON March 17 Joseph Page of this city and two companions escaped with minor bruises and cuts when their automobile was forced off the road by a hit skip driver near Murray City. The car rolled down a steep embankment and was demolished.
United Press reports a deadly weekend across Ohio with multiple fatalities from murders crashes and accidents. Victims include William Hussman in Piqua after killing his wife Josephine and a fatal air crash near Wheeler Airport in Zanesville that killed Albert Edwards and Burl Chaney. A Toledo incident claimed a 18 month old escape from water danger. In Columbus Frank L Scott Jr died when his car collided with an interurban train. Cleveland saw three year old Mary Molloman killed as a neighbor backed a car from a driveway.
Phoenix sheriff Charles Wright testified he did not use third degree methods to obtain Irene Schroeder’s confession in the murder case of state trooper Brady Paul in New Castle. Reporter Ella Resch of the Youngstown Vindicator remained jailed on contempt charges for refusing to answer questions about the Life Story.
Taylor Keys, 19, of Trenton, was in Columbus city jail charged with several robberies he admitted to. Detectives traced his arrest to a hospital visit weeks earlier for a bullet wound claimed as the result of an attempted holdup, a story he later revised.
