NCAA TV Plan Offers Compromise With Big Ten
The NCAA announced a compromise plan with the Big Ten and others to allow eight national telecasts and five regional dates for football in 1959. It would modify the 1954 program by permitting one national telecast and intra-district appearances, with smaller colleges possibly exempt from TV limits. A two thirds vote of the 429 members is required for approval.
