J J Evans Dairy Folk held a three association dinner in Mason County with speakers Taylor and Lewis praising West Virginia herds. J Henderson of Winfield Road remained in the same condition after a stroke at home on Thursday. Relatives visiting included William Dial and James Shank families from Circleville Ohio Vienna West Virginia and Cleveland Ohio. Bob Alesen of Point Pleasant was jailed by the Mason County sheriff on a charge of intoxication. Funeral arrangements are being made through Elk Funeral Home Charleston.

The district five high school speech contest will be held Saturday at 10 30 am in Point Pleasant with contestants from Cabell Wayne and Mason counties. Point Pleasant entrants include Dixie McNeill Doris Williams Jimmy Mitchell Phyllis Miller and Ferrell Wamsley. The winner advances to the state finals at West Virginia University Morgantown March 24 25 26.
