Prohibition Poll Shows Early Leanings Favor Enforcement
Ten states report initial Literary Digest straw poll on repeal modification or enforcement of the Eighteenth Amendment. Among 291,588 ballots, 150,739 favor enforcement 31,915 favor modification and 118,934 favor repeal. Jurisdictions include Illinois Indiana Iowa Kansas Minnesota Missouri Nebraska New Jersey New York and Ohio with varying early trends.

Ninth Grade Home Economics Exhibit At Athens School
The Ninth Grade Home Economics class at the Junior High School sponsored an interior decoration exhibit in the Athens School Building. Girls created room additions such as boudoir cushions pillowcases tapestries and French dolls. Tables displayed many student made articles while notebooks traced home evolution from Stone Age to modern times with illustrations of tree houses caves tents cliff dwellings huts Greek and Roman houses English manor Swiss and log cabin homes. Thora Olson chaired the exhibit assisted by Helen Rowland and Anita Kelley with Josephine McVay Mary Margaret Pickering and Carol Durst on the advertising committee. Students explained the displays including Jane Cline Irene Noland Margaret Chadwick Pauline Fishibaugh and Margaret Ann Thompson.
