Washington report describes Secretary Francia Perkins rebuking a news photographer who forced a plate after she testified before the Senate Labor Committee. Perkins halted her Wagner Labor Bill testimony due to a photographer snapping a flash without consent.
The FERA may help Steubenville firemen with recreation in three city fire stations under a $1,619 work project. A coal storage room would be added. Other approved projects include Athens two thousand thirty five dollars for a brick sewer enclosure at Nelsonville and a renovation of the Athens courthouse for three thousand nine hundred forty one dollars.
Athens County relief checks for the last half of December will be available to merchants at the Courthouse Wednesday, announced County Auditor C. C. Gibson. A kerosene stove explosion sparked a blaze at the Joseph Lee Roncoglione farm near Otter 12 miles from Gallipolis. The teenaged victim Joseph Lee Roncoglione Jr. died in his room. the father suffered severe burns.

Harold A Pauly editor of The Troy Daily News and president of the Miami Publishing Company died Tuesday after an abnormal operation in a local hospital. A Buckeye Phi Beta Kappa graduate from Ohio Wesleyan University he moved from Lebanon 28 years ago to enter newspapers. He led the public library board and Rotary Club and belonged to local Masonic bodies.
About 6000 people packed into Piqua to attend the funeral of Albert Doc McKnight, described as a town eccentric who kept residents laughing. A Catholic priest an Episcopalian rector and a black minister officiated as white mourners filed past the coffin. A local man praised Doc for making him laugh more than ten people in the town.
