Zaleski CCC Youth Dies of Meningitis at Camp
William Ray Turner age 19 enrolled at CCC Camp Zaleski died in Fort Hayes Hospital from spinal meningitis. Seven other boys from the camp were hospitalized for observation and the camp was quarantined. Turner, a 1939 Zaleski High School graduate, left parents and four brothers. Private funeral services were held at Zaleski. At Camp Nelson no new cases were reported and another enrollee Herbert Eaton age 19 from Flushing was hospitalized and improving. Quarantine at Camp Nelson expected to lift midweek.
