North Carolina Camp Davis Strike Settled and Wright Field Walkout Continues

A Camp Davis North Carolina strike over wages at a 13 million dollar anti aircraft firing center ended with workers returning to duty though terms remain unsettled. In Ohio, at Wright Field near Dayton, 200 AFL building trades workers continued a strike that halted essential defense work on a wind tunnel and laboratories, despite a War Department note that facilities were crucial for engine and aircraft testing and development. Roosevelt downplayed the impact, noting only a small defense project disruption. Various other labor actions included a Columbus Ohio depot project and Ford plants in Michigan, with conciliators and officials monitoring to avert wider stoppages.
