Mrs Linna Patterson Whipple wife of Athens businessman George E B Whipple died Wednesday night at 10 following a seven week illness. She had undergone an operation at Sheltering Arms Hospital three weeks earlier. She was born in New England Ohio and moved to Athens joining First Presbyterian Church. Surviving are her husband two sons Eldridge and Richard two daughters Martha in New Jersey and a brother Harvey Patterson of San Francisco. Funeral plans will be announced at the family home 129 North Congress Street with calls allowed Saturday and Sunday.
