A record 158,982 concealed carry handgun permits were issued in Ohio in 2016. County sheriffs issued 117,953 new permits and 40,982 renewals, the Ohio Attorney General report shows. The state set records for permits suspended, revoked and denied, with 1,669, 697 and 1,634 respectively.
