Twelve defendants were fined and six bonds forfeited in village court with Mayor John Zerkle presiding. Fines ranged from 5 to 100 dollars for offenses including driving while intoxicated intoxication speeding petty larceny and reckless operation. Meigs County Museum Renovation Volunteers Seek Help
The Meigs County Museum is being prepared for use with volunteer ladies painting and papering the second story for rental while downstairs will display historical articles. The group invites others to join next week, with several named volunteers shown in the photo. Also includes bids for 10 acres of land in Stewart Ohio and various Athens County legal notices and ordinances about city bonds for the City Hall, swimming pool, and park projects.

O'Brien Resigns as Judge and Meigs County vacancy
POMEROY The probate court in Meigs County became vacant with the resignation of Judge F H O'Brien. Common Pleas Judge John C Bacon will handle probate and juvenile duties without additional pay. Police cited Perry Baker and Charles Baker for red light violation and speeding respectively in Pomeroy.
