Steering Options Compete in School Reorganization Debate
Steering committee weighs pre kindergarten through fifth grade structures with three options. Option one favors a single campus, option three splits across two, option two uses two schools for K-5. All plans move sixth grade to middle school and keep grades nine through twelve at the high school. Public voting rules require member votes on the record.
Choices on the table for school structure options
With two committee members absent, the steering committee sends Options 1 2 or 3 to the board without ranking. The committee's report and an FAQ will be public. Two members will present to the school board at 6 30 p m Thursday March 16 at Athens High School, with brief comments allowed.
