Circleville drug ring leaders all sentenced
Circleville area drug trafficking ring leaders, identified last year, were all sentenced this month after a March 2015 indictment of 72 people. Ringleader Renshawn Dunning of Westerville got 11 years. others received 1 to 8 years plus suspended terms. The case spanned August 2010 to December 2014 with operations from Columbus to Circleville.

Man pleads guilty to rape after previous conviction overturned
Alan DQ Brigner 37 of Little Hocking pleaded guilty in Athens County Common Pleas Court to three counts of first degree rape. The plea followed the overturning of a 2014 conviction. the state sought dismissal of three other counts and a joint sentencing recommendation of 12 years. Previously he faced a 20 year term from a 2014 plea later vacated on appeal. Brigner’s acts allegedly occurred in 2011 and 2012 with a teenage relative at his home.
