Four people including transient Morns Tipton of Ponca City were injured as flames threatened further blasts. Highway Patrolman Jerome Richards reported one explosion and a possible chain reaction.
Seven battalions of fresh South Vietnamese troops began a new drive around Ben Het after a 20 day sweep that killed about 234 North Vietnamese. The operation named Will Win saw troops flown in to replace worn units with limited contact so far. US advisers and artillery support continue as the camp endures its calmest weekend since May 1 with North Vietnamese gunners briefly striking a night camp.

He and about two dozen advisers planned a 36 hour stay at the Hotel Plaza, cloistered and guarded, after landing at the international airport and then transferring to a small US Air Force plane to avoid a drive through the violence-plagued capital.
