Gilligan pushes faster funding for Appalachian Highway
Gov. John J. Gilligan announced a new 70-30 federal state funding formula to speed Appalachian Regional Commission highway work. He outlined planned July 1 starts on Stimson Avenue tie-in and Route 50 connection near Dow Lake, plus widening Route 50 to four lanes and a new Appalachian segment in Athens.
