Logan Council OKs Bill For Water Service Funds

Logan city council cleared legal hurdles last night for financing the general water service improvement program. An ordinance authorized notes up to 550000 to fund the project and authorized bond counsel from Squire Saunders and Dempsey of Cleveland. Bids for reservoir construction were opened with the lowest bid more than 40000 below estimate, and bids will be studied before a recommendation to the service director. Objections to additional street lighting on N Market Street were raised, with engineers noting the need to avoid excessive illumination in a residential area and planning a streets committee review before final plans.
