Drownings In Muskingum River Include Three From McConnelsville
A Sunday accident near McConnelsville left three people dead when an automobile plunged into the Muskingum River after the driver lost control. Victims were Mrs. Rose Anguish Butterfield 35 Norma McDonald 15 and Riley Price 50 all residents of McConnelsville. Price lost control of the coupe veering off Route 78 into the river. The bodies were recovered and artificial respiration used. Butterfield was married to evangelist T. H. Butterfield. In a separate incident Fred Watkins drowned after being swept over Rokeby Lock dam. his body was not recovered.
