School Board Deliberates Site for New High School Building

The Board of Education on Monday discussed locating the new high school on the stand-pipe site with the east end near 100 feet west of the stand-pipe. An alternative would move the old frame primary building to Hudson's addition at a possible cost of $500 for moving and a new foundation. Members noted objections to the stand-pipe site including grading and setbacks. Contractor Mr. Fenzel seeks clarity on underlying strata and contract terms, while bids assumed reuse of material from the old building. Budget shortages and whether to keep or replace the old structure remain open issues with further coverage promised.
