Route 667 Hearing Set
The Ohio Department of Highways will hold a public hearing at the Vinton County courthouse in McArthur on Friday July 10 to discuss relocating 40 of a mile of state Route 677 in Elk township. The abandoned portion would revert to neighboring owners.

Sugar Cookie Heist Hits Maynard Home
Sunday a burglary occurred at the Roger Maynard residence on McArthur Route 2 near the Hamden Allensville road entrance. The family, in Michigan for work, reported entry through a south bedroom window. A neighbor observed a car and lights. the thief took five pounds of sugar and $1.50, and ate fruit cocktail and cookies during the visit.
