A New York Central St Louis Special derailed at Shiloh near Shelby Ohio killing six crew members and possibly a seventh. Engineers L J McCord and J D Kennedy Jr both of Cleveland died, along with fireman Elmer R Wanke, and workers Edward Gunderson and James L Brockwell. One missing rail camp worker was feared buried. Several passengers were slightly injured as the lead engine overturned and plunged into an embankment. Authorities search for the missing man and possible cause.
