Mistrial Declared in Oiler Murder Case After Blood Test Dispute
After three days of testimony in the second degree murder trial of Jack L. Oiler of Middleport, Judge John C. Bacon declared a mistrial and dismissed the jury following a heated exchange over blood test evidence. Defense attorney Fred W. Crow accused the state of bungling the investigation as testimony showed blood on clothing and a quilt found near the Oiler home.
