Water Shutdown After Main Break Hits Pomeroy
Middleport residents woke to no water Sunday as a West Main Street main broke in front of the Ashland Service Station. Meigs Water Co. said a cinder layer in the soil caused the rupture with service restored about 12 hours later. Citizens sought water from wells, plants, and cisterns, with one resident using a hose over a wall to help neighbors.
