Athens women gathered at Lake Hope Lodge on June 22 for a luncheon and bridge on the upper patio. The Needlepoint Club origins date back 30 years with members including Mrs Willard Barker and Mrs Robert Bullock. prizes went to Mrs Nye, Mrs Bowman, Mrs Ullmark, and Mrs McCaskill with guests Mrs Gordon Bush and Mrs Fred Carpenter.

Post Officers picnic at OBS hosted by Mrs E R Jacoby at 6 p m bring a covered dish bread and butter sandwiches and table service and tax stamps. A bel ling and shower honors Mr and Mrs Richard Scott at the Scott home on The Plains at 8 p m Saturday. Athens Emblem Club held a pot luck dinner at the Elks Club with Mrs Gaynell Maple guest and newly elected president of the Ohio Association of Emblem Clubs.
