Patient Abuses Alleged At Lima

Cleveland Plain Dealer reports Timothy Reed was held in solitary confinement for 18 days at Lima State Hospital with electro shock therapy and heavy drug dosing. Reed, 25, had pleaded guilty to car theft in 1960 and was transferred after slashing an official in 1968. A Lima staff member questioned who ordered restraints while Dr. Cunningham denied the slashing caused the transfer. Reed was released Feb 8 after a judge ruled his rights violated due to counsel absence.
