Library program outlined for Rotarians in Nelsonville

Nelsonville public library head Laurence Solomon told Rotary Club members the library serves two roles: ongoing education and light reading recreation. The traveling Bookmobile extends service to rural areas, with a new unit capable of 2500 volumes delivering up to 8000 books monthly in summer and double that in winter. Solomon noted libraries defend against propaganda by providing accessible factual information for civic decision making and practical daily problems. Visiting Rotarians included Ralph Helber and George Shaw.
