Frank Chalkey, 56, of Glouster near Ferndale, ended his life Tuesday evening by stabbing himself with a butcher knife. He asked his son Joe to seek neighbors, then killed himself in his home. Coroner rules death self inflicted. Chalkey had been ill for years and despondent over domestic affairs. Surviving children are Joe, Frank, Wrightstown, Elizabeth, and Mrs. Raymond Smith. funeral arrangements pending. Chalkey formerly worked at a mine near Jacksonville. wife reportedly works in Athens.
