Murder Knot Darkens Dayton History With Hanging
Harry Adams was executed in Dayton for the murder of Henry Mulharen a Soldier’s Home inmate. Mulharen had drawn a fifty dollar pension and visited an ill famed house where Adams, a recorded paramour of the landlady, attacked him with a hammer after Mulharen left the street. Adams proclaimed his innocence on the gallows and hurled a wild accusation against Jennie Smith as the killer. The death occurred after a brief prayer and Sheriff’s thanks, with Adams’s fate sealed in fifteen minutes.
