Ira Keeney, a Quanah farmer, dove into his flooded storm cellar to save three children Doris 5 Thomas 4 Alma 3 but could not reach them. The three Keeney children drowned after a 5 inch rain caused a nearby dike to fail flooding the low cellar about 4 am. The bodies were recovered around 9 am as the storm moved across Hardeman County in northwest Texas.
