E M Poston born Nelsonville October 26 1862 died Columbus October 9 1931 buried Greenlawn Nelsonville October 12. Described as the despair of his teachers in school he left at age 12 to pursue science and electricity. Self taught through hard work he mastered reading and developed a lifelong interest in telegraphy and engineering. He roofed Nelsonville buildings and partnered with P B Verity and F C Morris who retired in 1949. He advanced electric lighting introducing street lamps and later alternating current generating gear in 1888 Nelsonville era.
